There are several reasons for independence:
- You declare yourself independent. You need 1100 house members to do so.
- You take part in a revolution and are the strongest (combat power) of the revolter.
- Your superordinate is integrated by someone. In that case all subordinates become independent.
- Your superordinate was inactive and therefor removed from the game.

I think 3 or 4 applies in your case.

part 4 doesnt apply if the superordinate has a superordinate
in german kosmor, one of my subordinates was removed because he was inactive, so his subordinate became my direct subordinate

But in kosmor.com you become independent, also if you superordinate has a superordinate too. The rules here are different from kosmor.de

Yes, that was changed to create more action in the beginning. And I don't think that Maelstroem changed it back.

As you just started I would suggest to concentrate on yourself. Conquer neutral planets (lvl. 3 preferred) and try to keep the taxes as low as possible for some time to get a decent population growth.

You can think about the house if you have 10 planets and are still in your own one. Wink

good luck with that...

I just got stomped my second day. I'm pretty sure the superordinate I began with is a drop. I was negotiating with others in the area to try to guarantee my indy status when it was awarded.

Then a ship I never saw (still haven't) came out of nowhere. Now I'll won't have a chance for some time.

Kron is big.

A - B - C
A is superordinate of B
B is superordinate of C

B quits

in .de, C becomes subordinate of A
in .com, C becomes independant

No, that's not what it means.

If Tobi gets conqured, you become independent (of Hommel) - keeping all your subordinates. And if you get conqured, all your subordinates will become independent of you (keeping their subordinates)

What we are talking of here, is what will happen if a player resigns the game:
In .de, your subordinates would become Tobi's subordinates if you withdrew from the game. In .com however, your subordinates would become independent.
