maths thanks to Surst and his ship costs calculator
cost of fully laden H4
credits 9140
optium 797
titanium 1162
energium 1129
plasma 951
multiply all resources by 10 (cost of mining)
7970+
11620
11290
9510
40390
so cost in credits is 50k
plus factory upkeep
M9 4050
O10 5000
T9 4050
E16 12800
P16 12800
total 38700
so costs are
38700
40390
9140
=
88230
say 90k
then the profit margin comes in
if profit is 100% - retail standard
then 20k per component adds up to 180k per ship
or 50%
is 15k per component
average cost of production is 10k per component |

Where is this ship calculator? I tried to find the totals for a H4 and it took me a long, long, long, time because I kept on messing up.
Edit: Never mind, I found it. It should be made more well known. |

Doh
just checked the costs for the manufacture again today
with one planet doing it all the upkeep alone is 90k
so that make the manufacture cost close to 135k
unless the ore prices keep going down
cheers
Steve
i think 17500 is a good number |

My production costs for a H4 would be 45,952 so I doubt that you can that much. |

i believe he was refering to price per componant as 17500
as he states 135k for manufacture of a whole ship... but that really is cheap Merthos |

I disagree with Skrubber's calculations.
I have calculated some production costs earlier, at http://www.kosmor.com/forum_int/viewtopic.php?t=6601.
But those are in credits, not in raw materials as Scrubber presents. Looking at the raw-materials composition of the components needed for one fully equipped H4 Interceptor, I find the following figures:
1 H4: t:3410 + e:460 + o:265 + p:605 + #:199 + c:4000
2 D6: t:7088 + e:864 + o:312 + p:1228 + #:308 + c:1200
3 L6: t:621 + e:7095 + o:1419 + p:348 + #:405 + c:540
2 T6: t:3714 + e:1520 + o:394 + p:658 + #:242 + c:400
1 S6: t:542 + e:5405 + o:1174 + p:476 + #:312 + c:3000
Where I have the following denotations: t = titanium; e = energium; o = optium; p = plasma; # = used factory capacity; and c = credits. As you can read from the table, the numbers concern one fully equipped Interceptor, spesified to 1 H4, 2 D6, 3 L6, 2 T6 and 1 S6.
Providing that all raw materials cost you 10 credits (this is not a bad assumption as you would probably not bother building a single mine on a planet with a productivity less than 10) and factory capacity cost you 100 credits, all parts needed for the interceptor would cost you 531720 credits.
If you want to see the production cost (in credits) of each individual component, please follow the link above. If you want to know the raw materials needed for each component, you will have to look up the relevant supplies in the Lexicon and do some claculations from there. |

perhaps the sellers would have more luck if they read this |

even if everyone does read this, everyone buys and sells at different prices. |

That is true, Shadowmaster.
One feature I would REALLY like to see implemented is standing orders on the market; define a buy- or sell-order at a set price and a set quantity. I believe this would give more power to the traders.
Now, too few imperators trade, leaving too few sales-orders on the marketplace. This increases the power of the sellers, at the cost of game-speed (i.e.: development). |

But this would increase the number of false orders extremly, which absurds the number of buyers (many players would make orders like 2 credits for each product, to hunt special offers at 1 credit) |

So then no one would sell at 1 cr unless they wanted to throw away money. |

I would sell at 1 if I want to sell for sure and if there are many buyers.
But it was only an example. Some try to buy for 111 Credits a product, worth 40.000. |
