Hi,

Not really a bug of Kosmor engine but I did not know where to post it : the publicity banner has donwloaded a trojan virus on my computer, created several pop-up windows and jumped out of kosmor in the main windows.

An advice for all to avoid this is to add the following line to the host file in windows folder (system32/drivers/etc/hosts) :
127.0.0.1 www.e-bannerx.com

This will mask the publicity banner and protect your computers.

Teo.

Oh, that sounds not very nice....

But my advise is:

Become PRO-User, there are no banners Smile

I second the virus warning. There is a banner that will infect any Windows computer showing it. Fire walls/Anti-Virus programs do not help. In similar situations I have heard the advice "Don't use Internet Explorer, use Firefox instead." I have never bothered doing this since my anti-virus stuff has done its job well. Now I am burned. Rolling Eyes Time to check out firefox.

Kosmor staff, please complain to your banner ad provider.

I'm sorry when I don't speak English now. Maybe a better English speaking User could translate the text.

My best regards merry christmas and a happy new year

in case of an infection, you have to try as many tools as possible to remove the malware.

Best tools are:
- AntiVir Personal (www.free-av.com)
- HijackThis! (google helps you)
- Adaware (www.lavasoft.com)
- SpyBot Search&Destroy (www.spybot.info)

(If Antivir is reporting something in "C:\System Volume Information", you have to disable the Windows System Recovery (after restart you can enable it again)).

But the only REAL secure way of desinfecting is to re-install windows.

a little off topic...
but doesnt any know how to fr***ing uninstall Norton?
it went weird on us about 2 months ago or more
and it then got worse about a month ago

see when it loads up, it wont loadup properly => causing no user to be logged in
with an administrator winXP pro account, if you try and uninstall it, it says you must be logged into norton with an administrator's account

GRRRR!

for a firewall... zonealarm is pretty good
and free-av for A/V
just i cant get rid of norton, which has been screwing up all internet access!!!

Well does anybody know what "abgesicherter Modus" in english is?

Or try to get into DOS before Windows starts, then you can delete or rename the .exe
