Well, I've lived in The Lowlands for a year and in Germanland for 5 years, but originally I'm coming from city, called Plovdiv in the middle of a (really) small country in South-East Europe. (Guess which):

It is situated west of Black sea, east of Serbia, South of Romania, north-east of Macedonia and north-west of Turkey.
Once someone told me: "But there is nothing!"

Question to paveyj: I still can't understand why so many west-Europeans (mostly from UK) are buying property in Bulgaria? OK - Plovdiv is big city, but most of them prefer small towns or villages which are even not close to beautiful nature...! Why? What is your story paveyj?

The reason is that the properties in Bulgaria are considerably cheaper than in the UK, and Bulgaria is a nice country to have a second home in. Also, because property prices in Bulgaria are rising and in 5 years or so you could make a lot of money from cheaply purchased properties!
