This round I was attacking a Planet (probably HP) with a wp of the same user on it. He was not in my House, I didnt fight against him, but my own wp retreatet. There was no message of this user in the GNs (ok, the retirement in... message).

Anyone have an idea?

No, I conquered him some days later. Same situation, same location... same battle that normally had to be fight before.

I have reviewed that problem in kosmor.de also.

It occurs, when the target type is "free space" and the target is a planet. Then, a WP retreat occurs.

Usually, the interface should take care of this problem - i.e. it should not be possible, to set a course to open space, with a planet on exactly the same coordinates - the system would then set "planet" instead of "open space" as target-type.

If someone can reproduce this problem (e.g. by changing the url), i would be very thankful to know. If this can be reproduced, it is an exploit (a wp retreat could be triggered, by only having an enemy planet in range).

Bye,
Maelstroem

Apparently this also happens if you jump and land within 1 ly or so of an enemy planet. You still have to set a course to engage the enemy, but it seems like your WP retreats when it is 0.1 ly or so away.

Most unfortunatley, the following would be a perfect reason for a retreat after a jump:
1) The player jumps directly jumps onto a planet of another player of his house.
2) The planet owner is conquered after the jump.
3) The warplanet should engage a retreat, as the planet is hostile now.

Hmmm... what to do...?

Bye,

i may be missing something, but i guess you're talking about jumping inside the rounding area on the map for a planet?

what about a simple button on the warplanet menu to "stop WP movement" and effectively cancel any waypoint

or is that not related to the problem?

No, I didnt jump, I clicked on the planet to set course.

As I said, a few days later I conquered the planet and the wp the same way.

Perhaps it just happens if there is a wp and a planet of the same player and you targeted the wp, not the planet and the program first want to simulate the fight against the planet. You have not targeted the planet and so retreat.

It should also be possible, that I targeted the wp, but the attacked player was just on the same coordinates of the system, not directly "in" it.

The bug has been corrected.

Under certain circumstances (e.g. by activating the jumpdrive while intercepting an enemy warplanet), the players' warplanet lost its target type, NOT triggering a combat, when it should have.

I have fixed that, so that the correct target type is set, when a warplanet approaches an object.
