the administration of the DisasterArea wishes everyone out there a happy new year. we will continue our journey to the outer rim and we will keep you informed.
in the last 70days we travelled more than 4000 lightyears and we are now in a uninhabited region of the galaxy. but this must be a wealthy quarter, we have alone 7 size 3 and 9 size 2 planets on our short range sensors. would be a nice place to settle down here.

we just created another outpost on a small planet right on the y-axis. we named it 'Zortinma' which means 'small-planet-in-the-western-hemisphere-right-on-the-y-axis' in the ancient language ringo-squelsh. this planet will be the amplifier for our sub-etha messages we are sending to the public. we hope that everyone can read this messages. the rest of the space is quiet and uninhabited. this universe is small these days.

Dear Dr. HotBlack, do you upload regularly the scientific data from your maps to Dr. alphabravo's tool? I can see that your trail of uncovered map stops and then one more spot appears far to the west? If you have all data, please upload them so we can all see your way.

Another question: Do you plan to stop only to the end of the Galaxy core or you want to go further and discover the far-far away parts of the western arm? This will be a breack-through achieavement!

As you know I sent the young scientist Giner to discover the closest areas of the northern spiral arm and he sucseed in his mission. His data are already published in the alphabravo's international scientific journal and now he is ready to be awarded with Doctoral degree.

I wish luck to all wisdom-seekers!

Yours, Nikoy.

ah yes, the cluster of planets of:
Abefim, Tosanpiyo, Tifa, Sonugofi

yes - I commend his fine work, and the first part of his research doctorate is already being processed. Of course, I am only a part of the team which can award honours - you would need to find others worthy to get Giner his fine degree.

yours, alphabravo

another 20 days have past, another 1200 lightyears are travelled and another gazillion unexplored planets we have seen out here. the edge can not be far away right now. there is a shimmer of absolute dark on our screens.

the question if we continue our journey can only be answered by the keeper of the seven teas he is the only one who knows if there anything out there already.
maybe mr. bravo can himself add the data to his journal as we are not able to get the original coordinates of the solar systems.

distance to center: 5493ly
distance to edge: can't be far right now

Dont fool you,

I've got a pirate access to the Universe's laws,

And, we saw about the outer rim...

And when we tried to push investigations further,

We saw something srange: The Universe just expanded in an instant. And we currently are recalculating all in order to understand it more.

We lost contact on the allied probe sent when this happened.

But he was far...

Congratulations! Hoping your journey will last on to uncover more of the borders of the galaxy... but you gain your diplome for your investigations anyway, also if your journey ends now. Take care at the dragons!

You should try and explore some of the outer rim worlds. As far as I know, there are few colonies (one of which was run by the retired imperator Battleking).

Not many colonized planets lie beyond the core worlds and the central arms.

as we are examining the near surroundings of the edge we can tell you that the galaxy's most extent does not lie in the direct y-axis but is shifted with an unknown angle. as we are here we try to make one further step. we will travel further than anyone else before and we'll try to reach the western arm of the galaxy. we don't know if we would be able to transmit any data when we leave the core area.
so humanoids: cross all your fingers and wish us the best for our journey partII
non humanoids: cross all your finger-like-extremities. thank you.

distance to center: 6000ly
distance to edge: zero

It took me about a bit over two weeks to reach the southern arm, but that was during the "good old days" when jumpdrives were 300 ly and you could only move 30 ly per day.

It should only take you about a week (if you are indep).

The gap between the Core and the Western part of the arm is wider then the gap to the Southern part of the arm...
