map update

My map didn't update today.
Any other of you have the same problem ?

Same situation here.
But there is another strange thing . I set yesterday the order to atack a planet. I received the message that i took that planet ( i also can look on that planet caracteristics ) but somehow my map tells me that i am in a different position and not on that planet Shocked

. Even if i don't see my wp position, i can see what the distances are between me and other planets and from this i deduct that i am somewhere else Razz

Well, if you want RPG, call it a proton storm darkening your radars, if you want RL, call it Murphy. Technically, php crashed when building the maps yesterday (during creation of the png graphics files)... usually, this is a very reliable language and process (did not crash for the last 7 years), but... yeah, its a new server and a new version... I´ve got to monitor it and if it happens again, build a workaround or so. If it happens again, message me on all channels (email, facebook) and i will rebuild the maps asap.

I think that another "proton storm" hit our radars Sad

My map went crazy again.

It says to me that i'm on a planet (where i was suposed to be) but it shows me that i am somewhere 400 LY away east. It doesn't realy shows my WP but my navigation map is centered on that point.

Anyone experiencing the same situation?

Last time it happened i tried to move on a planet and on the next day i found myself in open space. Lumberjack and michi's ships were also there Sad

Happened again! Crying or Very sad

I see the map from yesterday, but my WP have moved.
Which is the best way to contact Maelstroem? We need this fixed fast...

Same here but seems that not all of us were hit by this.
My friends Dacul02 and Claudiu don't have this problem.

Hope Maelstroem will fix it quickly !!!

It appears to have something to do with the increased max. download map sizes this time, I will reduce them and rebuild the maps...

Ok, the maps have been rebuilt. It was a different problem this time: a file-synchronization job (which ran at the time) was misconfigured and that caused broken map generation. It should be fixed now, hopefully.
